POINTS:
Faith is the way we connect to a spiritual reality.
It is very possible for you to be around Jesus all your life and never connect with Him.
Faith will always require us to press past the crowd.
We start searching for Jesus because we are desperate.
Inside all of us is an emptiness we are looking to fill. And we go to “doctors” to fix it.
Many of us are coming to Jesus to help us with our mortal doctors.
She wasn’t looking to Jesus to get her salvation but as her salvation.
The main reason that people don’t connect to Jesus is not that they have too little faith, but that they have too much pride.
Faith says I can’t, but my God can.
Basic faith takes reasoning.
Faith is not opposed to thinking; faith is opposed to our fears and self-protection.
Basic faith takes direction.
How much faith do we have to have in Jesus? Just enough to come.
The woman with the issue of blood shows us that we aren’t saved because of our faith; we are saved through our faith.
It’s not the dimension of our faith, but the direction of it.
Basic faith takes substitution.
Jesus delays show us His priorities.
Jesus delays show us His wisdom.
Jesus delays confront us with this question: Do we believe in Jesus, or do we believe in our agenda for Him?
Maybe the delay isn’t evidence that Jesus has forgotten you; maybe it is an invitation to know Him more deeply.
