Main Scriptures: Psalms 73:1-5, 15-23

Additional Scriptures: Romans 10:9, Psalms 73:13-14, 2 Corinthians 5:7, John 6:53-56, 66, Psalm 73:25

POINTS:

  • Faithfulness = an unfailing loyalty repeatedly demonstrated.

  • Doubt = a feeling of uncertainty.

  • Spiritual vertigo = when you are walking in faith, and you experience something that causes you to lose your balance.

  • Doubt is “spiritual vertigo”.

  • A religious mindset cannot help you steady your steps.

  • Faithfulness is making a decision to hold on to who God says He is despite appearances.

  • 4 teachings on what to do with our doubts:

  1. Doubt your doubts.

  2. Go to church.

  3. Choose the firmest place to put your foot.

  4. Feel for God’s hand.

  • We must distill out of our doubts our own dishonesty.

  • We got into our doubts through experiences with people, and experiences with the people of God will help us get out of them.

  • We are never choosing between belief and non-belief when we have doubts. Instead, we are choosing what to believe.
