Main Scriptures: Psalms 73:1-5, 15-23
Additional Scriptures: Romans 10:9, Psalms 73:13-14, 2 Corinthians 5:7, John 6:53-56, 66, Psalm 73:25
POINTS:
Faithfulness = an unfailing loyalty repeatedly demonstrated.
Doubt = a feeling of uncertainty.
Spiritual vertigo = when you are walking in faith, and you experience something that causes you to lose your balance.
Doubt is “spiritual vertigo”.
A religious mindset cannot help you steady your steps.
Faithfulness is making a decision to hold on to who God says He is despite appearances.
4 teachings on what to do with our doubts:
Doubt your doubts.
Go to church.
Choose the firmest place to put your foot.
Feel for God’s hand.
We must distill out of our doubts our own dishonesty.
We got into our doubts through experiences with people, and experiences with the people of God will help us get out of them.
We are never choosing between belief and non-belief when we have doubts. Instead, we are choosing what to believe.
