POINTS:

  • “Practice God’s Presence, pass the torch, and possess the Land.” - Randy Remmington, Foursquare President

  • To solidify deeper growth in Christ, we must possess the Promised Land.

  • Two stages of growth: deliverance and development.

  • Development is done in the wilderness.

  • The wilderness isn’t fun, but it’s critical.

  • Two reasons for not possessing the Promised Land: we want a sure thing and we lack gratitude.

  • Our self-righteousness is fueled by the self-righteousness of others.

  • Self-righteousness will harden our hearts.

  • God will give what he promises, but we will have to go get it.

  • God will let satan set it up so that the saints go and pick it up.

  • Four principles of development we must do: leave yesterday behind, seize our inheritance, stay focused on God, not people, and stay tethered to God’s word.

  • Yesterday will destroy us if we stay there.

  • We seize the Promised Land by faith.

  • WWJD addition: we can’t know what Jesus would do until we know what he did.
