POINTS:
“Practice God’s Presence, pass the torch, and possess the Land.” - Randy Remmington, Foursquare President
To solidify deeper growth in Christ, we must possess the Promised Land.
Two stages of growth: deliverance and development.
Development is done in the wilderness.
The wilderness isn’t fun, but it’s critical.
Two reasons for not possessing the Promised Land: we want a sure thing and we lack gratitude.
Our self-righteousness is fueled by the self-righteousness of others.
Self-righteousness will harden our hearts.
God will give what he promises, but we will have to go get it.
God will let satan set it up so that the saints go and pick it up.
Four principles of development we must do: leave yesterday behind, seize our inheritance, stay focused on God, not people, and stay tethered to God’s word.
Yesterday will destroy us if we stay there.
We seize the Promised Land by faith.
WWJD addition: we can’t know what Jesus would do until we know what he did.
