TRAINING MY HANDS FOR BATTLE

Watchman Chris Deniger

June 21, 2026

Main Scriptures: Psalm 144

Additional Scriptures: Hebrews 12:5, 13:8, 2 Corinthians 12:9, Ephesians 6:10-18

POINTS:

  • Without God, David isn’t ready for the battle.

  • God is also our Rock.

  • God is stable.

  • God is safe.

  • God is strong.

  • Strength is dependence upon God.

  • The strongest man in the room is not the one pretending that he has it all together. The strongest man is the one who knows where his strength comes from.

  • Powerful words:

  1. I was wrong.

  2. Please help me.

  3. I’m struggling.

  4. I’m sorry.

  • God trains us for battle.

  • God’s primary way to teach us is through other people.

  • Battles are not won alone.

  • We are trained by discipline.

  • We are trained by spiritual disciplines.

  • God trains us through daily habits like prayer, worship, and Bible study.

  • Be alert.

  • Are we relying on God as our Rock?

  • Who is helping train you?

  • Who are you training?
