POINTS:
Trouble often dictates correction of direction.
Direction matters more than speed.
What God has done:
Delivered us
Takes us from deliverance into development
Development is done in the wilderness
The wilderness shows us everything we are still holding on to as we try to take up our cross.
Why many never enter into the promised land:
People want a sure thing
A lack of gratitude
They don’t want to do the work
“He is a Lion. He is not safe. But He is good.” -CS Lewis
It is our self-righteousness, fueled by the self-righteousness of others, that will harden our hearts.
God will let satan set it up so the saints can pick it up.
4 principles for entering the promised land:
We must leave yesterday behind
Seize our inheritance
Stay focused on God, not people
Stay tethered to God’s Word
When it comes to yesterday, we need to have a Memorial Day.
Joshua needed to be Joshua, not Moses.
Whenever God does something significant in someone’s life in the Bible, it comes after they move.
Fear and faith are both about perspective.
God will confirm His Word with circumstances, the Holy Spirit, and other people, but he will never contradict His Word.
We can’t know what Jesus would do until we know what He did.
