POINTS:
God is omniscient; God knows everything.
God is omnipresent; God is everywhere.
God is omnipotent; God can do anything.
Fixers will connect with the Mighty God aspect of Jesus’ character but miss His tenderness and compassion.
Feelers connect with the God who daily counsels us because they can easily ignore the God whose power tells the sun where to stand every day.
The power of Christ is caring power, and the care of Christ is powerful caring.
“Quiet, be still,” is more accurately translated as “shut up and stay shut up”.
Nothing is a match for Jesus.
Jesus isn’t a man of great power; Jesus is God of great power.
Sometimes God’s solution to our problem is more terrifying than the problem.
We all think sinking is incompatible with Jesus’ love.
We all draw these inferred conclusions about Jesus. And the most common one is that if God cares, He wouldn’t let bad things happen to us.
4 ways to practically internalize that our God is a mighty God:
Practice the power of focus.
Think about Jesus’ death.
Think about Jesus in His word.
Put our faith in the right place.
Let your “Ah” open your eyes to Jesus, who is not just the baby in a manger, but the Lord of the storm.
