POINTS:
“A Christian’s spiritual maturity is directly linked to their emotional maturity.” - Peter Scazzero
Stages of emotional maturity: emotions infancy, emotional child, emotional adolescent, emotional adulthood.
The true sign of spiritual maturity is not what we do, it’s how we love.
We need to let our being define our doing
Recognize - Who do I say You are?
What or who do you recognize when you are with the Lord?
Do you recognize the things going wrong in your time with God?
Do you recognize the many things that need to be done?
Do you recognize Jesus?
Respond - What am I thankful for?
Instead of responding, do you react?
Do you question Jesus’ care for you?
Do you try to convince others to be the “I can’t’s, so you can’?
Do you think god only loves you when you do?
Express - What is my legitimate need?
Do you express your feelings to God?
Do you know that your feelings are meant to inform you, not to define you?
Adjust - What adjustment do I need to make?
Do you make the adjustments God tells you to make?
