BECOMING A BURNING BUSH

POINTS:

• In the 1990s, 90% of Americans identified as Christians; now it is 63%, with only 35% practicing.

• Only 43% of Gen Z are Christians, whereas 48% would consider themselves the religious “nones”.

• Evangelism: sharing the gospel.

• The primary way in which believers are called to evangelize is through witnessing.

• Most of us don’t encounter God unless something comes into our lives and disrupts our thinking.

• We must be disrupted because we're too busy or closed to new evidence.

• A burning bush brings about a paradigm shift.

• Burning Bushes:

  • Questions we need answers to.

  • (Primary) Most of our conversions resulted from events that caused disillusionment, leading us to realize we can’t handle everything alone. We then seek people who approach life differently. God sends a burning bush as a Christian.

• In our disruption, God reveals Himself as Fire.

• “I AM WHO I AM” means God depends on nothing, and everything depends on Him.

• Jesus stands in the fire for us and with us.
