POINTS:
Agape love = an unconditional and divine love, and at the heart of agape is sacrifice.
Jesus’ love has made the unlovable, lovable.
“A thing must be loved before it can become lovable.” -G.K. Chesterton
Being lovable cannot be accomplished by an act of will.
Real love isn’t about how; it’s about who. And the “Who” is Jesus. We love because He first loved us.
Love must be cultivated with determination and diligence.
Agape love means loving difficult people and in difficult spaces.
You don’t have to like everybody, but you do have to love them.
Jesus commands us to love our enemies.
Pray, bless, and do good = forgiveness.
We must pray until we love our enemies.
To bless means praying that our enemies have an encounter with the Lord that will change them, just as His love has changed us.
Doing good reactively means “be silent until you heal.”
To proactively do good means to give what you need.
“The only place outside of Heaven where you can be perfectly safe from all the dangers… of love is Hell.” -CS Lewis
